So the children, now called the Mortals, went out into the land. And the children came from six families. As they prospered, these families grew into great races, and the races grew with the land. They came to settle and call the land their own. The greatest of the races are called Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes and Orcs.
Human Tribes
And for the Humans, there were four tribes, who are called Valin, Eslan, Nyslavi, and Duni. The Valin stand tall and rugged as the lands they inhabit, with eyes that change from green to brown, fair skin, and hair that is brown like that of a Zargon. The Eslan stand short and stout, with eyes and hair that are an earthy brown and skin of a much lighter hue. The Nyslavi stand tall and slim, with eyes that are as blue as the open sky, skin that is alabaster pale, and hair that is as red as a newly quashed wine. The Duni stand broad and stout, with eyes, skin and hair that is the color of a fallen chestnut.
And there was another tribe of the Humans, or so it is told. They were called Kaddori and they were the first to come to Breminor. There, in their innocence, they met the Lord of the Daemons who welcomed them and tempted them, and they submitted to him. And Amulon brought them to Mount Vagogg in the land of Falagolle, and there they were corrupted into the Horde. The Kaddori are similar in appearance, short and stout with the tough gray-brownish skin of reptiles. Atop their heads are scraggly crops of dirty white hair and two small horns. Their teeth are as needles and their eyes are shiny as silver.
Elven Tribes
And for the Elves, there were four tribes, who are called Amanor, Deorrathon, Rulbriand and Lonilyn. The Amanor are the gray elves, so called for their gray eyes and hair, though their skin is fair. They are the tallest of their kind and they shun the other tribes and the other races. The Deorrathon are the wood elves, so called for they make their homes in the oldest of the old forests. They are stout for elves, with fair skin, green eyes and coppery red hair. The Rulbriand are the sea elves, so called for they make their homes on the open seas. They are the stoutest though not the shortest of all the elves with brown skin, blue-green eyes and white hair. The Lonilyn are the dark elves, so called for their skin and eyes are as black as the night sky, though their hair is white. The Lonilyn make their dwelling places far below the ground. Fear the Lonilyn and their dwelling places for they serve Amulon.
Dwarven Tribes
And for the Dwarves, there were four tribes, who are called Duimoth, Mortak, Ecthroth and Fioden. The Duimoth are the hill dwarves, so called for they make their homes beneath the high and low hills of the world. They are the tallest of the dwarves and less stocky than the rest, with brown eyes, hair and skin. The Mortak are the mountain dwarves, so called for they make their homes beneath the high mountains of the world. Somewhat shorter and stockier than the Duimoth, they have fair skin, brown eyes and reddish brown hair. The Ecthroth are the dark dwarves, so called for they make their homes so far below the ground that they seldom see the light of the sun. They are short and stout with dark skin, black eyes and black hair. Avoid the Ecthroth and their dwelling places for they abhor outsiders. The Fioden are the gray dwarves, so called for their gray eyes and skin, and what hair they may have is gray. Fear the Fioden and their dwelling places above all for they serve Amulon.
Halfling Tribes
And for the Halflings, who call themselves the Gromwa, there were two tribes, who are called Gamnar and Bufgees. The Gamnar are a stout folk who stand to the shoulder of a pony. They have fair skin and light brown eyes that are as welcoming as a stuffed chair next to a roaring hearth. The Gamnar live in civilized places and distain of a more rustic, country life. You may recognize the Gamnar by their propensity to wear shoes when they go on a walk, which they only do around town. The Bufgees stand a bit shorter than the Gamnar and have darker skin and deep green eyes that can be as cold as the night is long or as warm as a summer day. The Bufgees may live in Gromwa communities, though they prefer more rustic settings. They never wear shoes, even when venturing far from home, which they are known to do.
Gnomish Tribe
And for the Gnomes, who call themselves the Ghonom, there is but a single tribe. They stand to the shoulder of a good hunting dog, and are known to ride those same beasts into battle. For their size, they are a stout folk, standing well in a good fight when it comes to them. Yet, they do not take their size lightly as compared with other Mortals. As a result, they dabble more in the arts of stealth and of magic, for these can make the measure of a Mortal even regardless of their size. Gnomes are a fair skinned folk with brown, blue or green eyes and light brown hair.
Orcish Tribes
And for the Orcs, there were four tribes, who are called Ghashmur (Silver Moon), Ghothrol (Crimson Moon), Khazmul (Aronin, land of the dead), and Uthazul (Ethalia, land of the Immortals). It is said that the four tribes were in Breminor long before Mortals came and reluctantly allied themselves with the Lord of the Daemons to battle the newcomers. The Lord of the Daemons, however, had other plans for the Orcs. He would enslave them so that they could do his bidding. First to succumb were the Ghashmur, who are the tallest and thinnest of the Orcs, standing nearly a head taller than most Humans. They have silver eyes and silver hair that blend against their light grayish skin. Next to succumb were the Ghothrol, who stand the height of a Dwarf and are the ugliest and most numerous of the Orcs. Their coarse, dark gray skin makes them tough in battle and their black eyes make them fearsome to their enemies. The last to succumb to Amulon were the Khazmul. Shortest of the Orcs, they stand the height of a Halfling and are equally stout. They have blackish-gray skin and black eyes that make them difficult to see at night, though, like all their brethren, they can see best without light. As for these three tribes, Ghashmur, Ghothrol and Khazmul, they live wherever Amulon sends them, never calling a place their home. The last of the Orcish tribes, the Uthazul, were never enslaved by the Lord of the Daemons. They stand slightly taller than Humans, with gray skin and dark gray eyes. They live in the wilds and hills of the world, and are as likely to raid human villages as Kaddori camps to meet their needs. It is from the Uthazul that those whose blood is a mix of orc and human descend.
