Proper Name
Order of Mylassa
Alias
Mylassa's Warriors, Virgins of the Sword
Patron God(dess)
Mylassa
Symbol
A white, saddled and riderless horse, walking with head down; a broken sword hangs from the saddle. To the Mylassa Warrior mind, the horse represents the Order; white as a symbol of purity; its bowed head, an act of supplication. The Goddess is the rider but she remains unseen.
On their white surcoats, they wear a broken sword, a reminder of the prophesy that the Bringer will break their Order when he comes for the last time.
Purpose/focus
Protectors of the Thoradeed and the New Church, the institution, its structures and its representatives.
Character
In an increasingly corrupt world, the Warriors dedicate themselves to a purity of body, heart, mind and spirit to make them the perfect instrument of the Goddess. As a mendicant order, they swear vows of chastity and poverty, owning only those things needed for them to fulfill their purpose…usually a horse, armor, a sword and bow.

Hierarchy
Though they have been known to act alone, for the most part the Mylassa Warriors are found in communities. Small communities, also known as battalions, are led by a Commander. Battalions form larger communities called companies, which are led by Captains. Together the companies form the Order, which is led by the Marshall.
As warriors progress in experience and status within the Order's ranks, they “move” up the four stages: Warrior (lowest), Outer Circle, Middle Circle, Inner Circle (highest, usually reserved for the Order's leadership). It is considered poor manners to discuss one's status with another member of the Order, aside from your superiors.
Composition
Mostly human, elven, halfling.
Recruitment
Parents, usually nobles, may place daughters in the Order's Academy at an early age. It is a place for them to receive protection from the corrupted world and an education at the same time. At puberty, those with potential are invited by the Order to consider training militarily as well. Most accept. After five years as a novice, the worthy ones are invited to take their vows. Occasionally, a woman will join later in life, perhaps after her husband has died young.
Degree of secrecy
None. To them, secrecy is useful in battle, but otherwise is a cancer to the community.
Popularity
High in areas where the New Church is dominant; elsewhere they are considered a tool of the New Church.
Personalities
Marshal Konna Emik'aza of the Inner Circle, leader of the Order in 414 4C and the youngest Marshal ever raised. She is a war-hardened leader who has served in campaigns in Dunihk and Nyslavadd. The New Church's ruling Synod has overruled her on several occasions when she has wanted to send the Warriors into battle.
Publicly she has stated that she believes the Fourth Cycle is nearing its end. Privately, she has increased recruitment and has begun military training for many novices much earlier than usual.
